Using the forum's search function is a time-saver! Here's a quick visual tutorial to encourage all users to take advantage of this forum feature.
Step 1: From the FRONTPAGE of the forums, click on the SEARCH icon.
Step 2: The FORUM SEARCH dialog appears. Click on the ADVANCED SEARCH text to perform the recommended advanced search.
Step 3: When the ADVANCED SEARCH window appears, note the DEFAULT settings. These settings will most likely need to be adjusted for the majority of searches.
Step 4: In the example below, the search will be performed for ALL FORUMS (highlighted in blue).
1. Enter your keyword(s). In this example, "APU will not start" is the chosen keywords. Note that MATCH ALL WORDS is selected.
2. Change the dropdown dialog from LAST SIX MONTHS to ANY DATE.
Step 5: Perform a search for a SPECIFIC FORUM. In this case, the FSX Support forum.
Step 6: Perform a search across several forums by holding down the CTRL key and left-button mouse clicking on the preferred forums to search. In this example, a search across the FAQ, FSX, FS9 and Pilot's forums will be performed when the START SEARCH button is selected.
Step 7: 100 hits in just .25 seconds!
