    Posted: 12-15-2010 at 11:52am

Dear friends,

The 767 Winglet Update version 1.01 for FS9 and FSX is now available for download. The DOWNLOAD LINK (http://www.leveldsim.com/forums/download-version-101-winglet-update_topic22532.html) can be found in the Announcement section - at the top - of the FSX and FS9 Support forums.

NOTE: The download file - whether downloaded from the FS9 forum or the FSX forum - INCLUDES both versions of Winglet Update (FSX and FS9).

We're proud of the update, and hope you enjoy it.

We have some suggestions to help us help you make the process as seamless as possible.

BANDWIDTH
The Flight1 servers may get bogged down with so many of you trying to access the installation file. So, please, be patient. If you can, try downloading at another time (perhaps later in the day or a day or two after the release). Be patient, we have thousands of registered users, and this is a free update. Speaking of free...

A GIFT TO YOU
The free winglet update is intended to be a gift to you our valued customers. We trust you will not share this gift by posting links, files, etc to other sites.

IMPORTANT

LICENSED MEMBERS
The update is available to registered licensed members only. This means that you have purchased and registered for the licensed members forum with your registration code.

Of course, being a licensed member means that you will have to remember your login information (Username & Password) to gain access to the Support Forum to download the Winglet Update.

Prepare yourself:
  • If you have forgotten your username and password, you can retrieve it from the Self-Service pages here: http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=service
  • If you have forgotten your username and password, and have changed your email and therefore cannot access the support forum, you will have to submit a ticket to get that information. Do not expect immediate service. The ticket system is adminstered by staff - and the staff generally do not work on weekends.
  • DO NOT Private Message me or Administrators of this forum requesting login information. The self-serve and ticket system is there to assist you if you have forgotten your login information.
Remember, ensure you have access to the licensed members forum and that your login and password information work. If you cannot gain access to the support forum, and you are a registered licensed member, use the self-service system, or submit a ticket.

NON-LICENSED USERS
If you are a NOT a registered licensed member, take the time now to purchase the product (either for FS9 and FSX), so that you can take advantage of the free winglet update offer.

Purchase the FS9 version of the 767 for $39.95, then use the upgrade coupon to download the FSX version for only $14.95.

Once you've purchased the product you can register and gain access to the licensed members forum and the free winglet update for FS9 and FSX.

FINALLY...
It's always an exciting time when new stuff is released, but can I ask a favour that during the first day or two, make use of the search function before posting, and that - if you MUST POST- please post ONLY SUPPORT RELATED questions IF the product is not working.

Thanks in advance.

Vincent,

You must own the 767 and register via this link http://www.leveldsim.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=64&title=how-do-i-get-into-support-forum

Once you have registered then you will have access to download the Free Winglet Upgrade.

I have the plane, I went to the link, and filled in the info and it says "Your Certificate has already been assigned!"......I don't understand why this is not working. I have contacted Flight1 and updated my address so as to reflect my current e-mail address. I have according to Flight1 registered my product, so why can I not get into your forum. See TWA55 in members listing, that is me.Confused

Sir.

Please calm down.

What has most likely happened is that you have registered with ANOTHER username and have forgotten the username.

If you can recall what the previous ORIGINAL username was, post that username here with the email address you had when you registered the ORIGINAL username.

If you cannot recall your original username, you will need to contact Flight1 via their ticket system and request that they locate your original username.

I was not upset w/ you, where did you pick that up?.....I have logged all my purchases since 2000 and have kept every piece of paper, this is not the problem, I have all the info in front of me. All I nn is to register the product, I have not been able to do this.
What is aggravating, is w/ all this stuff, which I have keep, I still seem to run into problems.
There is no username on the purchase recipe, my e-mail has changed and I contacted F1 and had it changed to reflect my current address. I have had no problems at their site obtaining keys etc. I am unable to reg. your product.

And where did I say you were upset with me?

I wrote "calm down". And, again: please calm down. This will get sorted.

If the certificate you are using to register for the support forum has already been assigned, then someone at Flight1 needs to unravel this...

I will PM Steve Halpern to take a look at this.

If your Cert has been assigned, that means you used it on another account, with a different email address. If you submitted your certficate info to http://www.flight1.com/ticket.asp, you can get things reset. You have to submit your certificate code so we can identify the account.

Alex,

You cannot get the Winglet update unless you have access to the support forum(s).

If you registered previously, then this means that you have probably forgotten your original forum username and password.

Steve explains this in the post above yours.

"If your Cert has been assigned, that means you used it on another account, with a different email address. If you submitted your certficate info to http://www.flight1.com/ticket.asp, you can get things reset. You have to submit your certificate code so we can identify the account."

Suggest you get that sorted and then you'll be able to get access to download the Winglet update.

Hi, I am wondering where we can find the new fuel burn rates, and are there any fuel planners out there incorporating the new fuel burn rates?

No, it doesn't exist.

If you have FSBUILD, there may be a Winglet profile available, or failing that, you could create a new Winglet profile that burns 3 to 4% less fuel.

Sir,

You have 3 stars next to your username. This indicates that you have access to the support forums now.

Can you not access the Winglet link in the FSX Forum?

If you purchased the CD legally, then there will be a registration code included in the CD packaging to use to register for access to the support forum.

http://www.leveldsim.com/forums/how-do-i-get-into-support-forum_topic64.html

As most of you may know, the technical support (Licensed Member) area will be for purchasers, and the general area for everyone. To enter the "Licensed Member" area, you will need to simply follow the instructions on the page below.

http://www.leveldsim.com/forumreg.htm

When you click on the link, this is the information that will display:

Registering Your Level-D Simulations Product for Support Access

This product requires special registration in order to gain access to technical support through the web forums. The registration process is very easy! Simply follow these instructions...

Locate your Proof of Purchase Certificate number. This is different than your regular order number.

On Download Versions:

Check in the C:\Flight One Software folder. The file name to look for is Proof_of_Purchase_lvld67.htm. This certificate number is also listed in the email receipt you should have gotten right after your purchase. Finally, if you lost both the above, simply use our automated customer service area to get your certificate emailed to you.

For CD ROM Versions:

Check the product manual for a printed number. It will have 2 parts, with a dash in the middle.

Next, make sure you are registered in the Level-D Simulations Forum. You must be a registered forum member before you can successfully register here.

Finally, make sure you enter your information correctly. If all information matches our records, you should get immediate access to the support areas.

NO ACCESS? If you are still having problems accessing the forum, submit a ticket here: http://www.flight1.com/ticket.asp

Hello!
Now that I've read all of these posts here I have understood how it SHOULD work, but it doesn't:
Flight1 says my product number has already been registrated (obviously at a different account, email-adress or username), but this isn't the case! I've never used a different email adress than the current one. I've got the FS2004 version of the LDS 767 boxed, with the original key, and now I purchased the FSX upgrade without any problems. But I still can't get access to the support forums.

What can I do? The ticket system at the Flight1 support area seems to have no category for this problem (or if yes, I don't understand which one).

Thanks in advance!

Hi guys,I'm having a big problem trying to download V1.01,I own both fs9 and fsx of level-d I am a member of the forum, and I registered the fsx version in order to download the update but still with no luck, now, what I do not understand it is how a legitimate owner of a product with all the credentials still have to go thru a so complicated process to get just an update.I gave up already trying over an over, so I will keep using my older version until someone decide to do this a less complicated and I can access to download it.

You have not registered your purchase code to access the support forum.

If you have already tried that, then contact FLIGHT1 directly via their TICKET SYSTEM on their website, support tab.

Dear Mr. Shuttleworth,

I have searched the forums but can't seem to find an answer to the folllowing question....

Please could you let me know if there are any differences in the aircraft.cfg file for the winglet vs. the original version of the 767?  I see a fuel_scalar entry, on my set up the entries are identical which leaves me suspecting I've ballsed something up somewhere...or does the fuel & drag saving magic for the winglets take place behind the scenes buried deep within the code?

Please and thank you kind sir.

PS - How's your bum?

No idea, Hall. You have probably balled it up. Did you run the winglet config manager? Did you read the installation notes?

Bum that.

Yup, ran the config manager, read the notes, loaded a fresh aircraft not a saved flight.  Could you check your config file for the 767 winglet and non-winglet and see if you have the same fuel_scalar numbers for both types?
